Ben Melnykovich - Trauma Outreach Coordinator from St. E's Youngstown attended the meeting to make better
ties with Ashtabula County. He also wanted to inform our group about the education series St. E's is
offering. He offered handouts and info about the SimLab.
Ben also informed the council that St.
E's Youngstown IS a Level I Trauma Center 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. It is also a pediatric receiving
center and has a re-implantation specialist.
Ashley Fertig - Asst. Nurse Manager at ACMC will
now be attending meetings.

New Business No New Business at this
time.
Committee Reports
No reports at this time from Protocol, QA, Bylaw, MCI, Education,
Public Health, or Award committees.
911 - Strategic planning meetings are taking place and everything
is moving forward. The lack of funds is holding up the process.
Hospital Reports - Andover - Kathy
Alexander announced that the keypad is now in at the ER entrance. The code is 911. The buzzer is there
if you can't get in and video cameras are being put in.
They are working with St. Joe's-Warren
on transferring patients for scans.

ACMC will be cooking out for EMS Week again. The dates are May 18th, 19th & 20th.
UH - It was
announced that the Paramedic Program is winding down and that AMLS Class is this weekend May 8 & 9.
May 22nd is National Registry Practical day and the class final the following week. There are 16 students
still in the program and the Paramedic Program is no longer on probation watch.
UH is offering
a 3 month Paramedic program. The students will go to class Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Discussion was held on this
topic.
Discussion was also held regarding the drop program. An opinion of the group thinks there
will be a lot of paramedic openings in the fire service because of this.
Coroner's Office - Jim
Baehr stated that the CO Office is running out of money. They are trying to save money and now using
Ducro transport service for body transports.

Discussion was held about
the bundling issue. Hopefully the new bill will change because now Nursing Homes are waiting till the
patient is extremely sick before they call 911. They are doing this because they aren't receiving enough
money to pay bills. If you are looking for more information about this issue contact Julie Rose.
Medevac - Wayne Fleck announced that they are working with departments during the I-90 construction project
to re-designate areas. Contact Wayne or Warren.
